Finding a plumber in Darling Point

“Hey Tiff, wake up, will you? It’s me, and I need your help NOW!”

The screeching voice on the other end of the phone fairly jabbed Tiffany in the head. Although she was not fully awake yet and couldn’t possibly be without her morning cup of hot black brew.

“What IS it, Tan? Can’t you let me sleep in on a Sunday? What time is it anyway?”

“Gosh, Tiff. I don’t care what time it is. Neither would you, if you knew what’s happening to me. My house is full of water and it’s got to stop NOW!”

“Water? Did you say water? How did that happen?” Tiffany asked sitting up in bed and beginning to feel rotten already.

“I don’t really know. Just half an hour back I heard a loud gushing sound. I ran to the bathroom and tripped on my way and got a cut on my shin and it’s bleeding.”

“Tan, will you tell me about the water?”

“Ok. Ok. Yes, so, I ran to the bathroom and saw that the pipe leading out of the sink has broken. I have NO idea how that happened.”

“Did you turn off the main supply?” She asked softly.

“Of course, I did. But, it’s already too late. My carpet is soaked and worst of all, I have a bunch of friends coming for dinner tonight. I need to get the bathroom fixed before that, Tiff. You’ve got to help me”, her sister pleaded.

“Well, what do you want me to do? Come and fix the tap?” She asked incredulously.

“No, I don’t. But, you CAN give me your plumber’s number? The guy who came to fix your water heater last month?”

“How can that help? That plumber works here, right?” She asked as she scampered out of bed to get her phone book.

“No. I talked to that the plumber and he told me that their plumbing company has a branch in Darling Point. In fact, those guys service a wide network of areas, from Rushcutters Bay, Potts Point, Eastern Suburbs, Edgecliff, Darlinghurst and Elizabeth Bay. I figure if anyone can help me this early on a Sunday morning, it has to be them. Besides, the man also spoke about providing urgent plumbing services within two hours of making a call. They are my only hope, Tiff. I hope you have that number with you?”

“It’s your lucky day. I have the number. Take it down and give me a call afterwards, will you?” Tiffany said, reading out the number of the emergency plumber.

Fortunately for Tanya, the plumbing agency responded immediately and sent in an emergency plumber within one hour. Her plumbing problem was fixed in less than half an hour but she took the better part of the day cleaning out her wet furniture and drying her carpet.
